Programs for Special Needs Kids

Pathways for Exceptional Children NJ

Pathways was originally founded by Melinda Jennis in Montville Township, New Jersey in January 2002 as a support group for parents of children with disabilities. As a result of her own experiences with her son Jacob, who has multiple disabilities, Melinda knew much more had to be done to ensure the inclusion and success of her child and others like him. Melinda joined with her daughter Stephanie (age 7 at the time) and in November 2002, Pathways became a nonprofit. For the first five years, Pathways focused on building sports, recreation, and mentor programs that included children ages 3-21 of all abilities. Pathways quickly became known throughout New Jersey for its innovative “children teaching children” model, which provides a formal mentor training program that teaches children how to work with and include children with various disabilities.    Read more here     Pathways NJ

Mental Health Counseling:

sheriSheri Gibson LCSW, MSW

Change is possible. Hope is there. I have been working with individuals, families and couples since 1988 and went into private practice in 2000. I have worked in a variety of settings using a variety of therapeutic techniques. I have found that anybody can be helped regardless of the severity of their problems.
Each client is different thus needing different interventions from their therapist. I believe psycho-dynamic/psychoanalytic work is what results in lasting change. I will incorporate other modalities as needed or requested such as EMDR for Trauma related disorders.
I believe strongly in self-determination and privacy. I am not easily overwhelmed by difficult symptoms or people. In addition to almost 25 years of experience and post graduate training I continue to pursue learning all I can to ensure I am the best therapist I am capable of being.

Attorneys at Law

Education Law:

      John Rue & Associates

What happens when your child isn’t progressing at school? What happens when the school district takes services away from your child? What happens when the school isn’t following your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)? By law, your child is entitled to a free and appropriate public education. But the school district may make decisions you don’t agree with. If that’s the case, you may need help from an attorney who knows and understands education law.
